FOTD : Birthday Makup - 7/31/2014

Today is the day I turn 25. When I was younger 25 was the age I always thought was the greatest. You had all your shit together, you had a job you enjoyed (at a coffee place), a boyfriend (starving artist type), a cellphone (?), and just generally had a say over what you did. This is mostly true. I have a job that I mostly enjoy, just not at a coffee shop. I don't have a boyfriend, but I do have a lovely husband that I love with all of my heart. I do have a cellphone! And I mostly get to do whatever I want 'cause I'm a grownup!

Because I am so grown up I thought I would be seriously appropriate to wear some sweet blue lips - as I have been obsessing over them like crazy!

What I used :

 Face-
Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 110 Ivory

Eyes-
Wet N Wild Brulee
Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Sabbath
Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express

Lips-
NYX lipliner pencil in 851 Black Berry
Geek Chic Cosmetics Geek Gloss in Banished

Fragrance-
Tom Ford Black Orchid

EOTD : Darling Girl London Calling and Fyrinnae Orangutan - 7/21/2014

Ah so we meet again! I wasn't entirely happy with the last look I did, so I did another one today. Seems legit. I decided to go nice and simply, using only three eyeshadows in total. I think sometimes that simplicity is best, but I will leave that to you to decide.

What I used:

Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Glamour Doll Eyes Foil Me
Fyrinnae Orangutan
Darling Girl London Calling
Wet N Wild Brulee
Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Dark

So what do you think, better? I think the blending is better and the overall shape is more what I am going for. I am still trying to figure out how to place and blend a dark color in my crease and outer lid area.

Moon Rabbit Cosmetics - Special Force Collection EOTD

Seeing as I am almost ready to launch the fall collection I thought I would give to a sneak peek by sharing a look I did recently with three of the shadows. I used Commander, Time Freeze and Red Magma.

This is a fairly simple look, and honestly I am sure anyone could do it. I started out by patting Darling Girl Glitter Glue all over my lid. I have been playing with it and I am in love. I do find, though, that if you use too much it will crease like nobody's business.

Next I took commander and patted it all over the outer 1/2 of my lid, went slightly higher than my crease and created a v shape.

Then I patted Time Freeze all over my lid, blending it with Commander.

Lastly I placed a small amount of Red Magma in the inner corner and under my brow bone. I blended some into the crease to soften the line a little and done! All you need to do is add mascara and you are ready to go!

**these were the pressed versions of the shadows as I was trying to test out how well they would hold up as well as how the application would be**

What do you think of this look? Do you like to wear purples with greens? I will say I had a hard time capturing all the sparkles that are in the shadows. Are you excited about the release of this collection?

Moon Rabbit Cosmetics - Birthday Collection and EOTD

I finally unlazyed myself enough to wear makeup yesterday so I thought I would do a look using the newest Moon Rabbit Cosmetics colors. The newest collection is a birthday collection. It contains for shades that work great together.

Birthday Cake - is a frosting white with a blue sheen and tons of shimmery sprinkles of sparkle.
Sto Lat - Meaning one hundred years, is a yellowish gold with tons of shimmer.
Happy Birthday - the color of smoke in the air after blowing out the candles, a dusty greyed purple with shimmery flecks reminiscent of the flame from birthday candles.
Na Zdrowie - meaning to your health, is a deep blueish purple with blue, burgundy, and gold shimmers

Swatches
swatched over bare skin - no primer

Birthday Cake, Sto Lat, Happy Birthday, Na Zdrowie

My Birthday Look

Tutorial

Step 1- after priming your lid, pat Na Zdrowie on the outer half of your lid

Step 2 - pat Happy Birthday all over lid and blend with Na Zdrowie

Step 3 - pat Sto Lat on the center of the lid

Step 4 - Take a small amount of Birthday Cake and place at the inner corner and at the brow bone for a highlight

Finish with mascara and liner if you choose. I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Retrograde

I found it hard to capture some of the colors with my camera. Happy Birthday is more purple than just grey, and Na Zdrowie is more purple than the blue it shows up as. I really think Birthday Cake is a complex and wonderful highlight color and Sto Lat is a great gold.

What do you think of this look? Do you like the collection or are you just not wowed by it?
Also don't forget to enter my giveway it ends tomorrow!

 Every day is an adventure.

NTMS Disney Challenge - Ratigan Picture Tutorial

Hello everyone! I meant to post this sooner, but the internet had other plans. But that is fine because NOW IS THE TIME for a quick photo tutorial!

What I used

Tutorial Time!

I have already primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion and then placed Maybelline Color Tattoo Fierce & Tangy over the inner 3/4 of my lid.

Next pat Detrivore Facade all over Fierce & Tangy and then added Pretty Addictions Peach Punch in the inner 1/4.

Then using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet place on the outer 1/2 of my lid and made a winged shape.

Next pat Pretty Addictions Hocus Pocus over Purple Velvet and tried to blend as best as you can.

Next place a little bit of Glamour Doll Eyes Electric Chair in the inner corner and then use Glamour Doll Eyes Pistol Pistol to darken up the crease.

Ta da! This is the finished product.

I am quite pleased with how this turned out. I feel that my blending skills are slowly getting better and I really loved how the purple and orange worked together. I also really like the winged shape I created. I really love wearing a bold winged liner and this give you a similar shape but a more dramatic look.

What do you think? Have you ever done a look and totally surprised yourself with how great it turned out?
Would you like a video tutorial as well/in place of photo tutorials?

Valentine's day 6/14 - Quick Natural Eye Look

Today I thought I would try to do a quick photo tutorial of how I did my eye shadow. This was a very quick look and took probably less than 5 minutes. Its a very nice natural looking eye and I think anyone could pull this off without a problem.

First I used Urban Decay Primer Potion and put it all over my lid up to my eyebrow.

Next I used the Too Faced Naked Eye palette.

First I used Pink Cheeks and put it all over my lid and up to my brow bone.

Then I took Unmentionables and placed it in my crease and outer v.

Lastly I took Satin Sheets and placed it on the outer two thirds of my lid. Then I added some mascara and the look is done!

Missed a day, no problem! Check them our here - 1 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14

EOTD - Match Your Eye Color Entry

I did this last minute because inspiration did not hit me until this morning. I was thinking of my eye color, hazel and realized that I can use blue, green and brown. The main color of my eye is green, but there is brown around my pupil, and a blue ring around the outside of my iris. Since these colors go together so well I thought I would use blue, green and brown in my look. I am sorry the pictures stink, I took them in a hurry (and with my phone).

I used:
UDPP
GDE Dirty Jeans

What do you think? Would you wear this combination? What would you have done differently? What colors would you have used for you eye color?
