NTMS Disney Challenge - Ratigan Picture Tutorial

Hello everyone! I meant to post this sooner, but the internet had other plans. But that is fine because NOW IS THE TIME for a quick photo tutorial!

What I used

Tutorial Time!

I have already primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion and then placed Maybelline Color Tattoo Fierce & Tangy over the inner 3/4 of my lid.

Next pat Detrivore Facade all over Fierce & Tangy and then added Pretty Addictions Peach Punch in the inner 1/4.

Then using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet place on the outer 1/2 of my lid and made a winged shape.

Next pat Pretty Addictions Hocus Pocus over Purple Velvet and tried to blend as best as you can.

Next place a little bit of Glamour Doll Eyes Electric Chair in the inner corner and then use Glamour Doll Eyes Pistol Pistol to darken up the crease.

Ta da! This is the finished product.

I am quite pleased with how this turned out. I feel that my blending skills are slowly getting better and I really loved how the purple and orange worked together. I also really like the winged shape I created. I really love wearing a bold winged liner and this give you a similar shape but a more dramatic look.

What do you think? Have you ever done a look and totally surprised yourself with how great it turned out?
Would you like a video tutorial as well/in place of photo tutorials?

NTMS Challenge - Disney

This weeks challenge in NTMS is Disney. I decided to do a look inspired by one of my favorite movies: The Great Mouse Detective. I picked Ratigan as my inspiration.

And here is the look I created. I wanted to use the orange and purple as the main part of my look. I darkened the crease a little instead of leaving it bright and used a bright color on my lips to pull in the red from the lining of his cape.

What I used:
Maybelline - Color Tattoo in Fierce & Tangy
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Purple Velvet
Detrivore - Facade
Pretty Addictions - Peach Punch, Hocus Pocus
Stila - Love At First Blush Palette
Kat Von D - Everlasting Liquid Love Lipstick in Jeffree

What do you think of this look? I really like it! I was afraid this would end up being a bit crazy, but I think depending on what you are doing, you could probably wear this look out without a problem. Here is the tutorial if you are interested in how I did this.

Glamour Doll Eyes - Circus Collection Swatches!

It is finally that time! I have received my package full of circus goodies. If you order full size jars or sample jars you will receive them in a box, sample baggies do no come with the box. Inside I received two tickets, the circus business card and a cotton candy flavored lollipop (none are shown in the following photos). The packaging of these shadows is truly amazing. I love every little detail put into this collection.

Back of box
Special circus labels

There are eight shadows in this collection, they are:
Bearded Lady - medium to dark brown inspired by the luscious beards of the women of the sideshow.  The silver shimmer throughout add a hint of femininity.
Big Top - mimicking canvas tents, this medium toned yellow with red shimmer ties together the traditional colors of the circus all in one.
Cotton Candy - who says cotton candy has to be pink? this light to medium blue with pink shimmers brings forth the playfulness of the spun sugar treat.
Electric Chair - FLASH! This satiny/velvety white, somewhat metallic looking shadow is inspired by the shock of the electrical current. JOLT!
Fiji Mermaid - this greenish blue tells the story of a commonly used sideshow act. The Fiji Mermaid is alive and real with green shimmer undertones, reminiscent of scales.
Fire Eater - insipired by the heat and excitement of the fire eaters act this eye light uses red, yellow and orange colors to bring the fire-y spark.
Oddity - is a very unique blend of shimmer and matte. This is a lime green but almost looks duochrome as well.
Sword Swallower - down the hatch it goes! This semi metallic silver with silver sparkles embodies the shine and sharpness of the swords used in this traditional act.

All of the shadows
Aren't they just lovely
Cotton Candy
Fiji Mermaid
Big Top
Oddity
Electric Chair
Fire Eater
Bearded Lady
Sword Swallower

Swatches
all were swatched over bare skin except fire eater which was patted over LA Splash Splash Proof Sealer eyeshadow sealer/base

If I had to pick a favorite I think I would pick Fiji Mermaid or Big Top because I do not have any colors even close to them. The pigmentation is wonderful, they are all very smooth and silky. All these colors go together well. I also really like that Cotton Candy is blue instead or pink. If you would like to know more about this collection you should check out what Natasha (myeyeshadowisodd) has to say about it.

What do you think of this collection? Will you be picking up any of these colors?
