December 2014 Most Used + Loves

What have I been using and loving this month? Let's find out!

Eylure x Katy Perry Lashes - Sweetie Pie
I really liked the natural look of these. I used them for Christmas Eve dinner. I initially planned to use the Ardell demi wispies everyone raves about, but they were just too dramatic for the occasion (and the fact that I have never wore lashes before). What I liked best about these lashes is that I can do a thick liner and just pop these on and instantly look like I have natural lashes again. Is it just me, or do you find there's nothing you can do to make your lashes visible with a super thick liner. No amount of mascara seems to help me!

Makeup Geek Pigment - New Year's Eve
Just pat this baby on over whatever kind of glitter glue you like, and POW! instant party look. Simple and sparkly!

Illamasqua Powder Blusher - Hussy
I got this for Christmas last year after I had been dreaming of owning it for what feels like forever. I can tell you, it did not disappoint. I love it! Its nice and pigmented, and I think it looks good on me.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Amsterdam and Cannes
I have recently fallen in love with the formulas of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. They are easy to apply, and layer, and eventually become mostly matte without totally drying out your lips. Lovely!

China Glaze Hey Sailor with Essie Matte About You Topcoat
My favorite, matte red everything!

Manic Panic - Hot Hot Pink, Purple Haze, Electric Lizard
My current hair color combination. Let me tell you I am seriously feelin' it. I think I could be rocking this look for quite a while. <3

Everyday is an adventure.

Black & White Challenge - Day Six

So I know I have taken a serious break from the black and white challenge. Do not worry I didn't forget or give up. I have been relatively busy and didn't have much time to paint my nails, and every time I did, I was not pleased with the results. Today's post is:

Color Base With White

I used:
China Glaze - I'm With The Life Guard
China Glaze - Some Like It Haute
China Glaze - Techno
Pure Ice - Super Star
Cheeky Plate - CH5

I am not so much a fan of how the accent nail turned out, but I am loving I'm With The Life Guard.
What do you think?

Every day is an adventure.

Black & White Challenge - Day Three

Sorry I haven't posted this yet, it has been done for about a week and I just never wrote up the post. I recently got a few new stamping plates and wanted to play with them so you will see images from the second Bundle Monster set and the Cheeky 2012 set.

Black Base With Color

What I used:
China Glaze - Black Diamond
China Glaze - Aquadelic
China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky
Konad - m56
Bundle Monster - BM221
Essie - Matte About You

What do you think of this design? I am so glad to have an image plate with a leopard print pattern on it. It seems no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to do it myself. I need the help! I tried to, instead of using glitter, using a matte top coat as an accent. I feel it did not work out quite as I had planned. It wasn't bad, just not what I imagined it would be. Also if you can tell on the pinky I tried stamping the bow with red first didn't like it and changed to yellow. The red just did not stand out as much as the yellow did. This is also my first time using Black Diamond. I think I works well for this challenge.

Black & White Challenge - Day Two

So I may have cheated a little with this one but I don't care. Day two was supposed to be a black base with white. I feel that, artistically speaking, I have fulfilled the criteria with my design.

Black Base With White

What I used:
OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
Icing - Jet Black
China Glaze - Some Like It Haute
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
China Glaze - Fast Foward Top Coat
Bundle Monster - Plate BM17

I tried using Sinful Colors Snow Me White again. It works much better for stamping than it does for painting an entire nail. Also, the China Glaze top coat did not really streak my stamped designs this time. The only complaint I have about how my nails turned out is I wish I could seem more glitter and sparkle.

What do you think of this design? Would you wear it?
Do you like doing the tips or do you stay away from it?

NOTD - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crackle

I just can't help myself. For some reason this just makes me think of TMNT.

I used two coats of China Glaze Gaga For Green and one coat of China Glaze Black Mesh.

What do you think? I thought I was over the crackle look, I only did a manicure with crackle polishes twice, but maybe I will experiment with them a little more now.

Valentine's Day 2/14 - China Glaze Electropop And Konad NOTD

For day two of my Valentine's series I thought I would show you a quick and easy manicure. Adding glitter to the ring finger helps accentuate any ring you may wear there and the Konad design adds something cute.

First here is a swatch of Fuchsia Fanatic

And here is the finished Product

What I used

China Glaze- Fuchsia Fanatic
OPI- Show It And Glow It
Icing- Jet Black
Konad plate m59

What do you think of this manicure? Would you wear it or is it too busy for you?
What is your favorite Konad [or fauxnad] design or plate?
Would you like me to start showing you more of my nails and nail polish swatches?

Ulta Haul

I stopped at Ulta on my adventure to pick up some fish food. I had a list of things in mind, so there were not too many impulse buys which is all too easy for me.

First I finally found Revlon Royal nail polish. I couldn't find it anywhere and had been looking for months! I also picked up two polishes from China Glaze's Metro collection: CG in the City and Trendsetter. I was looking for Orly's Fowl Play, but those seemed to be all gone.

China Glaze CG in the City, Revlon Royal, China Glaze Trendsetter

I also picked up Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight Powder and Urban Decay Sparkling Lickable Body Powder in Marshmallow.

I impulsively picked up two Wet N Wild palettes that I had been interested in trying. The first is Silent Treatment and the other is Comfort Zone.
