Darling Girl Cosmetics Swatches Part 2

Today I want to share with you my first purchase from Darling Girl Cosmetics. I picked up twelve shadows, half of them are from the Halloween collection and today I am going to share with you the other six shadows I purchased.

Sushi Flower- an amazing iridescent blue/purple with a rainbow of diamond dust sparkle
Uprising- a gorgeous color shifting copper laid over a black base. In some lights it looks purple, in some you can really see the copper. It is gorgeous!
Gargoyle- beautiful rich metallic patina'd green with coppery brown undertones
Petunia- somewhat neural mid-tone matte pink
Willow- sheer iridescent baby pink with turquoise shift
Persuasion- (I cannot find it on the site anymore)

All swatched over bare skin - no primer

I know this post is quite late, I bought all of these during the 11.11.11 sale. I love all of these colors. I was looking for a nice light pink so I picked up Willow and Petunia. That is actually the whole reason I placed my first order with them. Sushi Flower and Persuasion caught my eye while I was perusing for some pretty golds/bronzes (uprising gargoyle). I honestly cannot pick a favorite from this bunch. They are all very pretty and I love using them!

What do you think of these shadows? How would you wear these? What other colors would you recommend for me to try from Darling Girl?

Darling Girl Cosmetics Swatches Part 1 - Darling Ghoul Halloween

Today I want to share with you part of my first purchase from Darling Girl Cosmetics. I picked up twelve shadows, half of them are from the Halloween collection. If you would like to see part two of the swatches, click here! I know its a bit late to be talking about Halloween but it doesn't make the shadows any less lovely.

Zombody to Love- sheer blackened navy with gold reflect
Crypt Keeper- blackened antique gold
Bats in the Belfry- deep murky brown with a kind of olive green undertone and sprinkles of multicolored green glitter. Fairly low sheen and on the metallic side
Pumpkin Eater- pumpkin orange with loads of green iridescence
Jack's Lantern- deep black base with a  fiery red/orange shift. This combination looks like a blackened purple especially when foiled
Candy Corn- blend of orange, chocolate brown and holographic glitters. So amazingly awesome as an eyeliner!

These are my first Darling Girl eye shadows and honestly, I cannot believe I waited so long to try these out. They are absolutely wonderful. I love the colors and the texture is great. My favorite has to be Jack's Lantern. It is truly beautiful. The red and orange shadow mixed with blackened purple, just cannot be beat. It is just so complex and beautiful.

What do you think of these colors? What is your favorite Darling Girl eyeshadow?

Benefit Hervana Swatches

Benefit had a one day flash sale of Hervana before it is released in January, so I picked this up during my Sephora haul. This blush is described as a soft orchid-blossom flush. There are four colors in a pinwheel pattern. The colors are lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose, berry delight. You are meant to swirl your brush in there and mix up all the colors and then put it on your face.

sorry for the craziness I seem to have difficulties trying to photograph blush. If you have any tips I would love to hear them!

Top- all the colors swirled together swatched heavily then blended out
Bottom- lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose, berry delight

I like that the new packaging comes with a little mirror and I like that the top is actually attached to the box so that you cannot lose or damage the top. This blush is a nice soft pink. It is darker than dandelion (the only other benefit blush I have) so I think more people will be able to use this.

Are you going to pick this up when it is launched or are you not that interested in it?
What is your favorite benefit boxed powder? What is your favorite blush?

You will be able to pick this up for $28 at Sephora in January.

Sephora VIB Gift Card Haul

I received my Sephora gift card in the mail and picked up three things. I know a lot of people were saying you did not have to buy 50$ worth of stuff to use the gift card online, but I did anyway. I was initially only going to get a few Benefit products to test out but then I saw they were doing a flash sale of Hervana before the release in January so I added that to my cart too. I ended up purchasing Finding Mr. Bright, One Prime Day, and Hervana. I have been interested in trying out some of Benefit's products, but The Big 10 which is what I originally wanted was out of stock. I have been rather curious of their different luminizers and face products.

What did you pick up from Sephora recently? Do you like Benefit products?
Are you interested in picking up Hervana when it is released?
What is your favorite face product (primer, luminizer, etc)?

NTMS Challenge - Blue Winter FOTD

As soon as I heard what the challenge was I knew exactly what I wanted to do. When I thought of blue winter I thought "this is the perfect time to use my Kat Von D Metal Orchestra palette!!" Perfect. This look is not perfect, but it was my first attempt at something like this and I think it turned out well. I have a tutorial on the way.

What I used:

Eyes:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Milk and Electric Blue (available at Ulta)
[Dagger, Techno, First Class, Razor Gray]
LA Splash Spotlight Mascara (available at Ulta)
Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight (available at Ulta or Sephora)

Lips:
OCC Lip Tar in Hoochie (available at their website I couldn't help myself and was just looking for an excuse to use it

Brushes:
ELF Professional eyeshadow brush (this brush seems similar as the one I used came in a gift set and I cannot find it on their site)

I do not know if I would wear it often, but I think it is pretty .
What do you think of this look?
