Things I love, these lipsticks. Things I don't love so much, how difficult Vamp It Up is to work with. I love the color. It is just perfect for fall, it just needs a little help. I recently picked up a few dark purple lip liners to see how the work with Vamp It Up. Cherry Picking is just an awesome red. I think many people could wear this red and look just wonderful. 24 Carrot Gold and Purty Persimmon however, are a bit more difficult for everyone to pull off. I am not sure if I have the right skin tone for Purty Persimmon, but I do know that I do NOT like how 24 Carrot Gold looks on me. I am going to try to layer it with glosses and see if I can make it work for me. I am loving Rose-bud and Coral-ine. Rose-bud is a perfect dusty rose. I have forsaken Tea Rose from NYX and have since replaced it with Rose-bud as my perfect office lipstick. (Coral-ine, honestly was mostly purchased because of the name. I love corals and I really loved the book Coraline. It is what it is. At least I am honest.=] ) Coral-ine is a pretty orangy, pinky, red that I just can't get enough of! It seems to be a less orange and more red/pink version of NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick. My current love of the NYX Matte Lipstick line. It seems there are not many lipsticks that I have purchased that I am not totally in love with. I think I have a disease.
The only color I am not fond of at all, is 24 Carrot Gold. Do you have any tips or tricks to make this lipstick work? Is it worth it or a lost cause?
What is your favorite Wet N Wild lipstick? Are there any that I do not have that I really must pick up?
Everyday is an adventure

I lovvvvvvve these lipsticks.. I only need a few more to have the full collection. I use 24 Carrot Gold as a color corrector (mixed in w concealer) so I don't have any tips on how to wear it. I tried it on once myself and was like, YIKES.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I am not the only one. I was sitting there debating if I wanted to buy it, and I was all like "yeah I can totally make this work" NOT! I am just stuck, it doesn't go well with my skin in the least! I am curious to see if anyone actually can pull it off.
DeleteIf you have any blue tones on your face you wish to cover (veins, blue-ish circles under your eyes, etc) it works like a charm. On the lip.. maybe if you layer it with a pink toned gloss to make it more coral looking..?
DeleteIf I can't find a way to wear it on my lips, I will def use it as a color correct. That is a genius idea!
DeleteThis is great, you've made me reconsider coral line. I love your swatches and your lips, one of my fav swatch blogs <3
ReplyDeleteLana, thank you so much! Your comment totally made my day. I start feeling like I see too much of my face when I do swatches, but I like seeing an up close photo as well as a full face photo. Just to get a better idea about the color. I am glad you like them!<3<3<3
DeleteYea I think its good for people to see the full face in order to get a jist of what undertones you have etc so they can see if a color is good for them. I think im a start using my full face too, just scared lol
DeleteJust found your blog while I was looking for OCC Lip Tar swatches. I love your format for lipstick swatches. It's super helpful to see barelips vs. lipstick and full face vs. closeup. Thank you xx
ReplyDeleteAw thank you so much! <3
DeleteVery late comment, but I found your blog googling for swatches of Wet n Wild lipsticks and I think 24 carrot gold looks great on you and goes very well with your skintone! Of course, that's just on my monitor which has pretty washed-out colours, you know best what it looks like irl. Are you sure it's not just the shock of orange lipstick - it takes some getting used to? My skintone is also quite pale and cool and shouldn't go with orange but I find the trick is to cover any redness and match the lipstick with a warm, peachy blusher. I started with more red-orange and coral hues to get used to the idea of orange lipsticks and now I wear bright orange. Sometimes it makes me feel all grey in the face though - it's probably a good idea to avoid neon orange. I also find I can't wear Lime Crime My Beautiful Rocket which is a really yellow carrot orange that looks really nice with warm and freckled skin, but not on me. 24 carrot gold doesn't look too neon or yellow to me though, more sort of a wearable pastel orange leaning toward peach/coral. Check out pictures of 40s movie stars for inspiration - tangerine lipstick was really popular back then.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches!! I wish we got Wet n' Wild in Spain...
