Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface Swatch

Today I have a quckie post. I want to share with you my first ever Tarte blush. I was on the fence with this color when I first used it, now that I have a little more experience, I really like it.

Swatched
over bare skin - no primers

Top - swatched heavily
Bottom - blended out

This blush is very pigmented and a little goes a long way. This was my first Tarte product. I really like it and I will be looking into getting more of these blushes after my 100-day no buy. I am interested in Exposed, Natural Beauty, Blissful, Flush, Blushing Bride, and Tipsy.

Do you use Tarte blushes? Which is your favorite?
What is your all time favorite blush?

Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder Swatches

After much thought and consideration on what highlighter products I wanted to try, and after getting a recommendation from WitchHazel, I decided to pick up the small sample version of Pink Leopard to try it out.

Swatches
swatched over bare skin - no primer

swatched individually

swatched heavily - blended out

I love this. It is not seriously sparkly. I would not use this as a bronzer as I am pale and totally afraid of using one. I think this is a great highlighter though. It has a subtle sheen when used lightly and adds a beautiful glow to your face. I like to use this alone, or to set Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl. They are somewhat similar in color so I feel it works well together.

What do you think of this product? Do you use it as a bronzer?
Do you use highlighters or find them unnecessary? What is your favorite?

Covergirl Temptress Lipstick Swatch

Hey everyone! Today I just have a quick swatch post. I walked by this a few times at Target and finally picked it up. After falling in love with NARS Schiap, I can't get enough of bright pink lips!

What do you think? Would you wear this lipstick? How would you wear it?
Any suggestions for great pink lipsticks?

bareMinerals READY 8.0 The Cocktail Hour Swatches

I don't know why this took me so long, but I finally have for you swatches of the second limited edition palette bareMinerals released around the holidays. The first one is The Playlist, and now I have for you The Cocktail Hour. This palette comes with eight eyeshadows and a dual-ended brush.

Black Tie Optional - black velvet
Icebreaker - pink pearl
Swanky - dazzling plum
Spiked - copper blush
Elixir - luxe lilac
Invite Only - taupe slate
Libation - sugared cinnamon
Shaken Not Stirred - jeweled navy

Swatches
Over bare skin - no primer

Top - Black Tie Optional, Icebreaker, Swanky, Spiked
Bottom - Elixir, Invite Only, Libation, Shaken Not Stirred

Black Tie Optional is not very dark or black in my opinion. This is probably my least favorite. Icebreaker is a very frosty slightly pink color. Swanky is one of my favorites. It is a deep plum with golden shimmers. Spiked is one of my favorite colors to wear, not necessarily this particular shadow, just pinky coppers in general. Elixir is an ok color. I have a possible dupe in the Too Faced Glamour To Go Palette Dream Edition, and a duo from ELF. (I will try to get a comparison photo up soon) Invite Only is more of a khaki green to me than a taupe. Libation is a nice highlight color.Shaken Not Stirred is my favorite out of these shadows. It is a blackened blue with blue shimmers, GORGEOUS!

I could not stop thinking about picking this up. I loved the colors but thought the other palette would be more wearable, and that was that. Well I was trying to use up my punch/stamp card so I decided to pick this up as well as a face primer. I love the colors in this palette. I think this is also more wearable than I gave it credit.

I do not know if I would recommend this palette necessarily. The colors are nice as is the quality, but there is just something lacking. It is just ok not wow in my opinion.
What do you think of this palette?

NOTD - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crackle

I just can't help myself. For some reason this just makes me think of TMNT.

I used two coats of China Glaze Gaga For Green and one coat of China Glaze Black Mesh.

What do you think? I thought I was over the crackle look, I only did a manicure with crackle polishes twice, but maybe I will experiment with them a little more now.

100 Day No-Buy Challenge

I read a post over at Danielle's Blog  and I thought this is it! I was toying with the idea of going on a serious no-buy until July. If I made it I was going to purchase an airbrush system. Well I think it is best to start a little smaller, let's go 100 days. This no-buy will end the 25th of May. Then it is just a bit further until July. I will be allowed one frivolous item if I make it through all 100 days. What will I pick?!

I have serious issues with money. I love to spend it. I don't love the feeling the next day after realizing what I did. I have a lot of unnecessary things clogging up the apartment. Nate and I want to buy a house, but we cannot do that if I continue on the way I have been.

I am posting this to let you know, I will not have any new items to share. I have two packages coming in the mail, and that is it! I would like to have any of you out there toying with a no-buy to join us in this 100 day challenge. We all need as much support as we can get! If you would like to join in, comment below!

Good luck to us all!

Valentines Day 10/14 - Bright Look Using Indie Brands

Here are some photos of a fun look. It is very Valentine's day in colors but in style, it could be somewhat considered anti-Valentine's? I think this is just a fun look. This is one of my favorite looks I have done so far that was not somewhat planned ahead of time. I used all indie eyeshadow and that was fun!

What I used

Eyes-
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Detrivore - Creature, Starlet, Bone
Darling Girl - Persuasion, Willow
Glamour Doll Eyes - Tattooed, Phyrra, Candy Floss, Foil Me

Face-
bareMinerals - Prime Time
Make Up For Ever - HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 115 Ivory
ELF - High Definintion Powder
bareMinerals - Lovely
Benefit - Watt's Up!

Lips-
OCC lip tar - Grandma

If you want to know how I did this look, I will have a video up as soon as I edit it.

What do you think? Would you wear this on Valentine's day?
What are your favorite indie brands?

Valentine's Day 9/14 - NOTD with OPI

I just did a plain nail today for Valentine's day. Not everyone like nail art or sparkles, but a classic red nail with a twist I think almost anyone can dig.

This is OPI's Ali's Big Break. They say: This glowing red shimmer breaks through in style. I find this is a bright red with gold fleck in it. The shimmer is not over the top, but is really beautiful. If you love a red nail, this would be a great polish for you.

What do you think of this color? Do you like to wear just a color on your nails or add more POP with sparkles and art?

Valentine's Day 8/14 - Fun Pink Look With ELF 144 Palette

Here is yet ANOTHER pink and purple look. I really like this combination. The reason I did this is to show that you can get a beautiful look without having to spend a ton of money. For this look, I used the ELF 144 palette and Rimmel Nostalgia lipstick. The ELF 144 palette is a great investment. Not every shadow is a winner, but the ones that are, are great to work with and have great color pay off. Just see for yourself!

First I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Then I used Column 7 Row 3 for a wash all over the lid.

Next I used Column 8 Row 10 on the outer half of the lid.

Then I used Column 8 Row 3 as  highlight on my brow bone.

Then I placed Column 7 Row 9 in the crease and outer v.

I then used Jack's Lantern from Darling Girl as a liner.

I created a small wing and smudged a little on my lower lash line as well.

I am really loving these colors together, what do you think?
What are you going to be wearing on Valentine's day? Anything special or is it just another day?

Valentine's day 7/14 - Quick And Easy Look With KVD Truth Palette

Today I have a little picture tutorial. I did a look using the pink side of the Kat Von D Truth palette. I think it turned out alright. It is very wearable. This look would really help to accentuate green or hazels eyes.

First I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin all over my lid

Next I took Rehab

and placed it all over my lid and brow bone

Then I took Galeano

and patted that on the outer 2/3rd of my lid

I took Sister

and placed that on my brow bone for a soft highlight

Then I took Prague

and placed in in the crease like this

I didn't want to use too much and I find placing it where I want it first makes it look nicer after I blend it rather than just placing and blending at the same time. (because I seriously lack skills)
Blend!

Then add some mascara

Here is a full face shot- I used KVD Lovecraft on my lips

What do you think of this look? Too subdued or just right?
I have really been loving a purple and pink smokey eye. I don't know why. What look or combination are you obsessed with right now?
